How I fell in love with matt lips thanks to MAC Cosmetics

I was never really fond of matt lips – I thought they were dry, flat and without any definition. Since forever I preferred well moisturising, wet and rich in colour lip-glosses and lipsticks with glossy finish. It changed when my heart was stolen by the newest MAC Cosmetics collection – Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. Just amazing!

What are my lips like?

My lips aren’t very problematic if only I take good care of them. Matt lipsticks never worked for me because my lips became very dry after every application. Skin of the lips was cracked and the entire make-up looked very unaesthetic. That is way I loved so much all the wet cosmetics, which moisturised the lips right after application.

How the matt lipstick from MAC works for my lips?

I admit, that at first I was afraid of testing the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour collection, because of my previous experience. I need to choose lip products very carefully. However, MAC Collection is my favourite brand, so I decided to risk it and test liquid matt lipstick. It was a great choice! My lips with tendency to dryness loved the light formula of the MAC lipstick and the matt effect is stunning.

What are the assets of The Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour?

I could go on and on about how magnificent is the matt lipstick from MAC Cosmetics. Thanks to this brand I started to make a matt lips make-up and finally I’m not afraid about their condition.

Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour is:

  • highly pigmented (intensive colour with one layer),
  • long lasting (up to 8h of lasting colour and can be removed only with the make-up removal),
  • glamorous (lips gain 3D matt),
  • light (the formula isn’t causing dryness, and even slightly moisturises lips),
  • easy application (liquid texture dries quickly and don’t spill).

Does MAC Retro Matte have any flaws?

I noticed only one, but I’m willing to forgive it on the account of many assets of the MAC lipsticks. Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour absorbs so well into the lips that it can only be removed with make-up removal, which also isn’t easy. Lipstick – just like other matt products – makes lips a bit tighten and dry. However, this effect is much more subtle than with other matt cosmetics, and lips regenerate much faster after application of, e.g. nourishing balm.
